For more than 50 years, taxidermist John McCosh has been practising the art of making lifeless animals appear lifelike and animated.

John's collection is housed in a purpose-built log cabin in South Wairarapa where he's been welcoming visitors for more than 30 years.

Visitors to the Kahutara Taxidermy Gallery can see an Arctic wolf, a roaring lion, a prickly porcupine and hundreds of other animals from around the world.
