Peter Frampton taught himself guitar and piano and formed his first band when he was just Twelve.  At sixteen he became lead guitarist and singer in the British group The Herd and two years joined with Steve Marriott (The Small faces) to form Humble Pie.

In 1972 the first of four solo albums was released but none met with much commercial success.  This all changed in 1976 with the release of the double live album "Frampton Comes Alive" which, at one point, was the biggest selling Live Album.
