Rowing boats, waka ama, kayakers, paddle boarders and even surf boats will hurtle down the Waikato River this weekend in a 100 kilometre race.
The race, the Waikato 100, is having it's official debut after a trial last year and aims to focus attention on cleaning up waterways and promote water-based activities.
Nearly 100 different vessels have signed up to do the race and registrations close tonight (Wednesday, November 22).
