From Afternoons, 1:31 pm on 15 March 2018

Takaka-based writer and actress Martine Baanvinger's one-woman show "Solitude" is opening in Wellington next week.

It's set in the bush in the Nelson/Tasman region and tells the real life story of Annie Chaffey who went bush with her boyfriend in 1913 and lived in a hut with no electricity for 40 years.

Martine tells Jesse about the discovery of this fascinating character.
