Residents of Wellington's Lyall Bay are urging the city council to stump up half a million dollars to replace the burnt-out surf club at the capital's only surf beach. Local musicians were among those taking an interest in the fate of the building - including Toby Laing, trumpet player, of Fat Freddy's Drop.
