Environment story - Antarctic whale research

The joint Australia-New Zealand Antarctic Whale Expedition is conducting non-lethal research into whales, and has managed to attach 24 satellite transmitters to whales. It has one more week at sea before it returns to Wellington. Alison Ballance went on board NIWA's research ship Tangaroa the day before she was due to sail south to talk with expedition leader Nick Gales and scientist Rochelle Constantine about the species they were planning to focus their work on.
