Sophie Elliott was stabbed to death in her Dunedin home by ex-boyfriend Clayton Weatherston in 2008. He had been controlling and abusive in their short relationship. Sophie's mum, Lesly Elliott has launched The Sophie Elliott Foundation. It aims to educate young women about the warning signs of abuse.
