From Afternoons, 2:10 pm on 17 December 2010

For more than 50 years in the late 1800's and early 1900's, passengers with infectious diseases arrriving on ships in Otago harbour were sent to a small Island Quarantine Island. Now a family from Normanby, Dunedin is voluntarily moving to the island to act as caretakers. Francine Vella , her husband Alex King and their children, 13-year old George and 16 year old Rebecca will be moving to the island just after Christmas.
