From Jesse Mulligan, 1–4pm, 2:10 pm on 30 March 2011

Trevor Bremner has been playing the cornet since he was five years old. In fact, he's a multi-award winning cornet champion and continues to play for orchestras and brass bands. His Mum didn't mind the practice day and night, but when he and his wife had a young family, Trevor needed to find a way to practice, without waking up his young sons. There were mutes on the market, but he says, they didn't work that well so he made his own. Now the"Shhhmute"is in demand around the world. He manufactures the Shhhmute in Taranaki.
