Honouring the fallen

From Afternoons, 2:19 pm on 6 April 2011

In January 1971 an American soldier who had shown great kindness to New Zealand troops serving in Vietnam, died defending an unnamed hill near the Cambodian border. Commanding Officer Paul Leary and his US Special Forces were stationed next door to the No1 New Zealand Army Training Team. Vietnam veteran Rob McAllister was there with the Royal New Zealand Engineers.
