Astronaut Colonel Eric Boe

From Afternoons, 2:09 pm on 17 May 2011

The space shuttle Endeavour blasted off on it's 25th and final mission this morning. The entire NASA crew from the final journey of the space shuttle Discovery could not be there to see today's historic flight, because they are all here in New Zealand helping the relief effort in Christchurch. Colonel Eric Boe and five of his fellow astronauts took Discovery on her final run in February. On board was a flag from the city of Hamilton, which they will hand back over to the city at a special ceremony today.
