Tomb of Unknowns

From Afternoons, 2:10 pm on 1 September 2011

As thousands of people fled winds from Hurricane Irene, the soldiers who guard Arlington Cemetery's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington DC remained at their posts. Members of the Old Guard have "walked the mat" in front of the tomb, every minute of every day since 1937, an act of the greatest respect for the unknown soldiers who lost their lives in World War I, World War II and the Korean War. Sergeant Travis Windbush is a Sentinel at the Tomb.
