Missing aircraft remembered

Fifty years ago this week a Dragonfly aircraft took off from Christchurch at 9:52 in the morning on a scenic flight to Milford Sound and was never seen again. Once the plane was reported missing, 17 civilian and 17 military aircraft searched Fiordland for any sign of the ZK-AFB Dragonfly, it remains the largest air search ever conducted in New Zealand history. But nothing has ever been found.
