Topics - A former army officer and historian for Australia's Department of Veterans Affairs, Graham Wilson, says one of the most persistent myths was of the great independent Aussie bushman instantly transformed into a fabled fighter. The red poppy has been widely accepted across NZ, Australia and the UK as the main symbol of remembrance of war-time military sacrifice, but there are some who feel uncomfortable about its exclusive focus on military sacrifice in war. The panel spoke with Professor Kevin Clements, Centre Peace and Conflict Studies Otago University.
