Your Place - Tangowahine

A small community on the upper reaches of the Kaipara Harbour. It was once a mill town for the kahikatea and kauri timber trade. Kauri logging and gum digging where the mainstay of to the local economy until the mid 1930s. A bridge was built over the nearby river in 1893, and that completed the road connection from Whangarei to Dargaville.
