In some Pacific Island nations the old art of tattoo has long died out, but not Samoa where the tradition called "tatau" is very much alive. Contemporary tattoo artists from Tapou Tatau Studio have been invited along to Wellington's City Gallery for two weeks to showcase their unique tattooing style which blends urban hip hop culture with traditional Samoan patterns.
