Young aviator takes first solo

A 16-year-old pilot from Tauranga has just flown into New Zealand's history books. Sam celebrated his 16th birthday on Saturday - meaning he was allowed to fly solo for the first time. He took full advantage of reaching this long-awaited milestone, by taking to the skies in three different aircraft - something his instructors believe no other Kiwi trainee pilot has dared to do.
