The Unknown Blues

From Afternoons, 2:10 pm on 25 September 2012

In 1965 the Rolling Stones played a show at the Civic Theatre in Invercargill and inspired a group of local teenagers to put their own wild rock'n'roll-blues band together. The Unknown Blues brought their own degree of notoriety to the Southland music scene, and were often accompanied to shows by a gang of bikers. A new documentary, 'Antarctic Angels and the Unknown Blues', screening around the South Island this week, tells the tale of that raucous time in '60s rock.
