Tune Your Engine - Medical 'Spin'

A new study that looked at 70 press releases about clinical trials shows that half contained spin. And the spin came not from over excited reporters, it started with the scientists themselves and what they had written in the conclusions of their reports. Isabelle Boutron from the l'Universite Paris Descartes conducted the study. This week New Zealand is hosting the prestigious annual meeting of the Cochrane Collaboration, an international network that promotes evidence based, independent information to help medical professionals and consumers make good healthcare decisions.
