When the National Hip Hop Dance Championships take place in Auckland next month, The Hip Op-eration Crew, aka The Hip-Op Crew, from Waiheke Island will be one of the biggest crews in the competition. No member of the crew is younger than 65 and the eldest dancer is 96 years old. At 94, Maynie Thompson is the second eldest.
