Your Place - Athenree

In recent years this township has become almost a dormitory suburb of Katikati. Originally it was a landing place for ships in the uppermost reaches of the Tauranga harbour. Two main waves of settlers arrived in 1875 and 1878 and the name "Tin Pot Castle" was originally bestowed by one of her most prominent citizens.
