He's a retired journalist, teacher, mentor, media commentator whose had two careers in journalism. The first as a practitioner, working mainly on newspapers in Auckland, followed by a second career nurturing young writing talent in print journalism at university. Last year he gave up his long held post at Canterbury, and headed for the Capital to take up residence at Massey.
