Fifty years a milkman

From Afternoons, 2:09 pm on 15 August 2013

Seven days a week, rain or shine, every day but Christmas Day, Arthur Laycock gets out of extra early to make sure we all have milk for our ceral and coffee. For 50 years he has been delivering milk in Timaru. Last night friends and family gathered to help him celebrate, but first they had to wait until he finished his deliveries for the day. They reckon 50 years on the job makes Arthur the longest serving milkman in New Zealand. The 74 year old milkman started this morning at 5:30am, but he's not done yet. Arthur is back at the milk depot right now sorting out the milk for tomorrow's delivery and he joins us from there.
