The editor of the Northern Advocate newspaper, Craig Cooper, has written a strongly-worded column saying there is much more work to be done to make Whangarei a tourist paradise. The parents of the dumped Kiwis league player Tohu Harris have cancelled their flights to the World Cup which begins in Britain later this month. Harris, a secondrower for the Melbourne Storm, was withdrawn from the 24-man Kiwis squad to make way for World Cup-winning All Black and hero of the Sydney Roosters' NRL grand final win last weekend, Sonny Bill Williams.
