Our Changing World - Kakapo in the Hauraki Gulf

From Jesse Mulligan, 1–4pm, 3:34 pm on 21 October 2013

Hauturu-Little Barrier Island in the Hauraki Gulf is one of New Zealand's most precious nature reserves - and it's now home to nine of our most threatened birds, the kakapo. Most kakapo are intensively managed, but while this little population will be left to do its own thing, kakapo rangers can still keep a remote eye on the birds with the help of some clever technology, as Alison Ballance finds out when she visits the island.
