The mollymawk

From Afternoons, 2:22 pm on 28 January 2014

A breed of albatross rarely seen on land has been found near Nelson. The mollymawk - which is a New Zealand term for a "lesser albatross" - was discovered 40 kilometres inland, near Wakefield. Zoologist Meg Selby, who co-owns Naturelands zoo near Nelson, suspects the bird was blown inland by this summer's unseasonably strong winds.
