Eight months to mars - Kristy Flower

From Afternoons, 1:20 pm on 17 February 2014

We've talked about it quite a bit, the high hurdles this Mars One project has to clear in its attempt to land people on Mars in 10 years time, never to return. UV radiation is intense, there's no atmosphere to stop meteors coming at you, it's incredibly cold, but three New Zealanders are still in the running to go. There are big questions like who will build the rocket and where will they blast off from? 1058 people are still in the running, and we understand it will be filmed for reality TV. Kristy Flower is 20 years old, and will be in her early 30s when she goes, if she goes.
