Douglas DC-3 on show

Pilot and aviation enthusiast Athol Murray has the front of a Douglas DC-3 on his property in Dipton. Athol's grandfather James Murray was leader of the airforce's 41 Squadron and flew DC-3s all over the world. When Athol saw that a DC-3 from his grandfather's era was for sale, he hooked up a trailer and drove from Southland to the Wairarapa to pick it up.
