Christopher Columbus' wreck - Kevin Crisman

The world of marine archaeology is abuzz over a claim that one of the most famous ships in history, Christopher Columbus' Santa Maria, has almost certainly been found. The underwater explorer Barry Clifford believes he has pinpointed the wreck north of Haiti. The flagship Santa Maria, along with La Nina and La Pinta, were part of Columbus' expedition in 1492 where he explored the Caribbean in an attempt to find the westward passage to Asia. But not everyone is convinced by this new claim. Some say the evidence is still circumstantial. One expert who can hopefully shed some light on this is Associate Professor Kevin Crisman.
