Immigration and its impact on our country is a contentious topic at the best of times. That’s why the Office of Ethnic Affairs created the EthnicA Conferences, to provide platforms for discussion within our ethnic communities and the wider public. The EthnicA Conferences have taken place at major centres across the country over the last few years.
Lynda attends the latest EthnicA Conference at Te Papa in Wellington to interview a panel of key speakers on the hot topic of immigration and its impact on our country: Stephen Dunstan (general manager, Settlement, Protection and Attraction Division, Immigration New Zealand), Mohamud Mohamed (president, Multicultural Council of Wellington) and Dr Ute Walker (language and migration specialist, Massey University) as well as Mervin Singham, director of the Office of Ethnic Affairs, provide insight on this subject.
