Beale Street Caravan features acoustic guitarist and singer Guy Davis, and New Orleans favourites, Cowboy Mouth.
Guy Davis is keeping the blues alive with his songs of the American rural South in this set from 2004, recorded at the Mississippi Valley Blues fest. Cowboy Mouth has been around since the mid-1990s described as a collective of '80s rock & roll survivors. They have a huge following in their home town, New Orleans, attracted by their high energy live shows.
Beale Street Caravan features live performances drawn from concerts recorded in the US for The Blues Foundation who are based in Memphis Tennessee.
The styles vary from traditional acoustic Country Blues to the latest approaches by the new generation of performers, with gospel and Cajun along the way. Guest presenters host mini-series about Blues History and performers, and during New Zealand Music month Kiwi blues takes centre stage.
