Morning markets for Monday 9 June 2014

Investors in the United States are wondering whether the records the Dow Jones and S&P 500 indicies reached on Friday can be maintained. Both indicies, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq, each gained about half a percent. Across the Tasman on Friday, the Australian 200 Index also gained half a percent in reaction to the European Central Bank cutting interest rates last Thursday and the ECB's move also boosted New Zealand shares, the benchmark Top 50 Index climbing 23 points to 5182.
