Donations flood in after decile school lunchbox comparisons

From Checkpoint, 5:45 pm on 12 September 2017

Children at a South Auckland primary school won't go without lunch anymore, after Checkpoint checked in on the state of lunchboxes at Auckland schools.

Last week, Checkpoint visited a decile 1 and a decile 10 school to see what was for lunch, and found more than half of one class at Mangere's Kingsford Primary didn't have anything to eat.

The story received a huge reaction online, with many offers of help, and several businesses came forward offering charity KidsCan help.

More than 125 children's lunches are now being sponsored.

Cars full of food have rolled into Kingsford Primary today, ready to ensure no child would go hungry.
