Obituary: One of the most influential women in the renaissance of Te Reo Maori, Dame Kahurangi Katerina Te Heikoko Mataira, has died at the age of 78, and is lying at Ohinewaiapu marae, near Ruatoria, about 107 kilometres north of Gisborne; The police have dropped an investigation into allegations of financial mismanagement by the head of the Waikato Tainui parliament; The Conservation Department says most of the submissions coming in on a Kauri National Park in Northland support the idea; Thorough research and persistence has paid off for a Taranaki man, who has got his local council to change the name of a road that meant nothing in Maori.
