Queensland senator wants ban reinstated

The challenge to New Zealand's long and hard-fought win to get its apples into Australia is not over. The first exports are expected to cross the Tasman within days, overcoming a 90 year old ban set up to keep out fire blight and other diseases. But lawmakers from Australia's rural powerbase are gathering forces to try to reinstate the ban.
