A member of Auckland's Independent Maori Statutory Board, is questioning the Auckland Council's commitment to having a partnership with Maori; The police in Wellington decided today that a hikoi to mark a 130 years since the raid on the Taranaki settlement of Parihaka, was too small to be allowed on the streets; One of five of the northern most tribes is close to resolving its Treaty claim, after initialling a deed of settlement at Parliament today; Maori members of the Anglican church from all over New Zealand have just gathered at Te Papa i o uru marae at Ohinemutu in Rotorua, for their 16th biennial Synod, known as Te Runanganui o Te Pihopatanga o Aotearoa.
