Ruapehu District Council is being criticised by a local iwi for allowing a car rally to go ahead in Tongariro National Park; The Mayor of Ruapehu District Council couldn't be reached for comment; A Waikato-Tainui kaumatua and historian says the Maori King movement is today mourning the loss of a Royal blood relative of the pacific, the Tongan King, George Tupou, the fifth; The Housing Minister, Phil Heatley, says Maori trusts around the country are achieving good things for their people by taking up the government's offer of subsidies for new community housing; The biggest Maori-owned fisheries firm, Aotearoa Fisheries, has joined forces with Massey University -  so the sector can be researched.
