The Independent Maori Statutory Board says there needs to be more Maori working for Auckland Council - in all departments; The Northland iwi, Te Roroa, says there's strong support in the region for co-governance of Waipoua kauri forest, if it becomes a National Park; Auckland Council is going ahead with plans to close pockets of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park to protect kauri trees; The Tauranga-based kiwifruit company, Te Awanui Huka Pak, is putting Maori culture and a Rugby World Cup star centre stage in Japan.
