The Maori Council is rejecting a suggesting that it should to step aside and let the Iwi Chairs Forum lead the debate on Maori water rights; An arm of the Iwi Chairs Forum is planning to spell out its relationship with the Crown when it attends a water rights hui called by the Maori King; Some members of Rangitane in the Lower North island want to put a stop to their tribe's Treaty settlement; A series of panels identifying significant Maori sites prior to European settlement have been put up near New Plymouth's popular coastal walkway.
