Study finds dental therapists suspect child abuse

Dental therapists come across hundreds of cases of suspected child abuse every year but often don't tell Child Youth and Family because they have no faith the service will do anything. An Otago University study involving about half of the country's dental therapists found 55 had each suspected up to ten children they'd seen in the past year were being physically abused.
