Meat Workers Union & AFFCO Row Hits a New Low

From Five O'clock Report, 5:41 pm on 6 January 2016

The long running battle between the Meat Workers' Union and Talley's owned-AFFCO has hit a new low in a row over t-shirts. The union says an employee has been suspended without pay after he videoed workers being refused entry to work because they were wearing union t-shirts, then posted it on Facebook. Union organiser, Darien Fenton, says the man's suspension from the Rangiruri meat works, near Te Puke, was decided yesterday. She says the meeting had to be held in a car park across the road from the plant, because the manager refused to let her to enter the building wearing the same t-shirt.
