Focus on politics for 4 September 2009

Both the National and Labour Parties say they are willing to compromise to reach a deal on an amended emissions trading scheme. Labour is due to restart talks with the Government next week in an effort to stitch together an agreement just days after a select committee review of the present ETS was released.
