As a people of the land, Maori named many of their geographical features including mountains, rocks and, in the case of the Tarawera falls, even the three main water spouts of the spectacular natural feature. Ana Tapiata talks with Kahu Te Rire about some of the old portents, ancient waiata and other stories about the waterfalls.
