Legislation to forge a closer digital relationship between government departments and citizens attracts cross-party support although not with some doubts. The Electronic Interactions Reform Bill is now with the Government Administration Select Committee which will be taking public submissions on it. Finance Minister Bill English reveals surplus for the last fiscal year was larger than expected. Mister English, who is also the Minister Responsible for Housing New Zealand labels media reports that the corporation is going broke as "ridiculous" and "stupid".
