3:00 Classic Concert: Asleep at the Wheel - Live from Austin Texas

Exponents of the 'western swing" style of country music, Ray Benson and his contemporary cowboys (and gals) keep this 1920's foot tapping music alive. The style evolved in rural America as a dance hall sound combining cowboy, folk, blues, Dixie jazz and polka with the instrumentation of fiddles, acoustic and steel guitar and piano. They are joined by the original Texas Playboys on several tracks in a tribute to the king of western swing - Bob Wills (New West)
