3:00 Classic Concert: The Dave Brubeck Quartet at Carnegie Hall
Dave Brubeck popularized and made jazz accessible in the 1950's and 1960's. He never compromised his music for popular appeal. Quite simply his music was popular. Critics called it "jazz-pop". With his Quartet he toured continually and this set, regarded as one of the greatest live jazz albums of the 60's, was recorded in February 1963 and features his signature tunes "Take Five" and Blue Rondo A La Turk" (Sony)
