Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From The Road

Lynyrd Skynyrd were the definitive 1970s hard living Southern blues rock band until a tragic plane crash killed singer Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gains in 1977. By that time they had released six albums and written the rock anthems 'Free Bird' and 'Sweet Home Alabama'. This set recorded in July 1976 at the Atlanta Fox Theatre captures the band at their peak and includes the definitive 15 minute version of 'Free Bird'. Get out your air guitar.

'Matinee Idle is Radio New Zealand's Mufti Day. They let me and Simon "loose in the asylum". We get to be the guys testing the outer limits of listener patience and we benignly abuse this privilege.' says O'Brien. 'They let us play whatever we want! It's every radio presenter's dream.'
