Woman, boy killed in Yemen hostage botch-up

A woman and a 10-year-old boy were among 13 people killed when US-led forces failed to rescue two Western hostages in Yemen at the weekend. An American journalist, Luke Somers, and South African teacher, Pierre Korkie, were shot and killed by their captors during the raid intended to secure their freedom, while 11 people died in the gun-battle that ensued.
