From Morning Report, 7:26 am on 19 December 2016

Three separate investigations are now underway into the death of jockey Rebecca Black in Gore yesterday.

The Riverton-based jockey was riding the horse Point Proven at Tapanui Racing Club's Christmas meet when she collided with another rider and fell.

Now every other jockey in the race is being spoken to and Worksafe and police are also investigating.

Mrs Black is the second jockey to be killed in a race fall in the past decade after Ashlee Mundy fell to her death at Kurow in 2012.
