Maori Party say Government's decision on whanau a win

From Morning Report, 8:25 am on 16 March 2017

The Government has decided to take another look at the role of the wider family in new child safety laws.

The Social Development Minister, Anne Tolley, has admitted the wording around priorities when placing a child in state care isn't right.

It comes after a lot of pushback from Maori leaders, including the Maori Party, on the proposed new bill setting up the new Ministry for Vulnerable Children.
